A suspected member of the ShinyHunters cyber extortion group, known online as ‘Rey’ (real name Saif al-Din Khader), has reportedly been detained in Jordan. Authorities took him into custody on September 29, 2026, and he is now cooperating with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This cooperation aims to help identify and locate other members of the prolific hacking and extortion group. ShinyHunters has been responsible for numerous high-profile data breaches and extortion attempts.
