CERT-UA has warned of a new campaign by the Russia-aligned threat cluster UAC-0099, which is distributing the MATCHBOIL.V2 malware. The attackers are using a malicious program disguised as a Notepad++ plugin to compromise Windows systems. This group has a history of weaponizing security flaws, such as those in WinRAR, to deliver their payloads, indicating a continued focus on social engineering and software impersonation.
