Unpatchable 'usbliter8' Exploit Affects Apple A12 and A13 SecureROM
Security researchers have released ‘usbliter8’, an exploit that achieves arbitrary code execution within the SecureROM of Apple’s A12 and A13 chips. Since SecureROM is burned into silicon, this vulnerability cannot be patched via software updates, meaning affected devices will carry this flaw indefinitely. The exploit requires physical access to the device and is not a remote attack.
